A new study from the Center for American Progress looks at the costs communities pay for violent crime. The study takes into account lower property values, higher insurance premiums, more money spent on police, courts and jails, and calculates the savings for 8 cities if violent crime was reduced 25 percent.
*Milwaukee is one of the cities included in the study.
