Great news! The Democratic Party of Wisconsin passed a resolution calling on the Wisconsin Legislature to require criminal background checks on all gun sales in our state.
Please support this commonsense policy that will help prevent more gun violence tragedies by contacting Governor Doyle and leaders in the Legislature as soon as possible.

Recent shootings across the state of Wisconsin have drawn a lot of media attention and more than the usual commentary from elected officials.
o Nelsonville - A mother and her two toddlers were shot to death by the children’s father.
o Appleton - A woman was shot and killed by her estranged husband.
o Madison and Fitchburg - Gun homicides shook both communities.
o Milwaukee - Two police officers were shot and seriously injured. A seven year old boy was shot in the face in a drive-by shooting.
Sadly, these are just the “high profile” shootings among many more. It’s past time to move beyond just talking about the problem.
For far too long elected leaders have been more concerned about protecting their ratings from the pro-gun lobby than they have been about protecting the people of Wisconsin. This must stop.
Join the call for immediate steps that can be taken to help prevent more gun violence tragedies. In particular, ask for full support for legislation to require criminal background checks on all gun transactions in our state.
